Lately, I have really been loving the Old Testament minor prophets - the Lord has been leading me there in my times with Him, and I have been learning so very much.
This morning, I was reading in Micah, and was reminded of some amazing promises from my God.
“With what shall I come to the Lord
And bow myself before the God on high?
Shall I come to Him with burnt offerings,
With yearling calves?
Does the Lord take delight in thousands of rams,
In ten thousand rivers of oil?
Shall I present my firstborn for my rebellious acts,
The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,

And to walk humbly with your God?
(Micah 6:6-8)

Gosh.  That last part just strikes me.  ”What does the Lord require of you but to…walk humbly with your God?”  WITH your God.  How precious is that?!  And if the thought of walking WITH God isn’t humbling enough, I don’t know what is.  That is just an amazing thought to me.  That not only would God come and prepare the way for us, and call us to do justice and love kindness, but that He walks WITH us?!
“But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me.
Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy.
Though I fall I will rise;
Though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a light for me.”
(Micah 7:7)

I just love the power in this verse.  I will watch and wait for the Lord - and He will hear me!  The enemy cannot rejoice because the Lord is my light.  There is so much victory and power right here just waiting for us to stand up and claim it!
“Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity
And passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possessions?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in unchanging love.
He will again have compassion on us;
He will tread our iniquities under foot.
Yes, You will cast all their sins
Into the depths of the sea.”
(Micah 7:18-19)

We lie.  He will again have compassion on us.  We cheat.  He will again have compassion on us.  We steal.  He will again have compassion on us.  We kill.  He will again have compassion on us.  We lust.  He will again have compassion on us.  We forget our first love.  And He will again have compassion on us.

My heart is so encouraged this day from these promises in Micah.  Are you not uplifted by this reminder of God’s power and compassion on your own life?

Praying for you today, my brothers and sisters.
